StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full-time Maintenance Specialist/Painter to join its outstanding Plant Operations team that supports StarCare's numerous facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Safely performs skills of the painting field including methods, practices, materials, surface preparation, and proper mixing and matching of all types of paints, varnishes, shellacs, lacquers, wood stains and other finishes. 

Essential Duties:

• Communicate information to supervisor and other employees;
• complete all required documentation;
• assist the supervisor or other Center Staff with special projects or assignments;
• support building security and fill in providing support to the Plant Operations functions throughout StarCare Specialty Health System;
• share on-call duties on rotating basis with other Maintenance employees;
• Travel to all Center locations or other citywide sites, using a Center vehicle and/or personal vehicle, is required.

Schedule: This is a full-time/non-exempt position scheduled Monday – Friday, with an 8-hour shift of:  8am to 5pm, depending on the needs of the department.

Qualifications:

• High School Education or equivalent,
• plus, three (3) years’ experience in designated trade (painting/ finishing) 

Skills & Abilities:

• Working knowledge of operation and safe use of all power and hand tools/equipment common to the painting field is necessary. 
• Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, etc.) and personal computer with Microsoft Office products is required.

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
• Must have a Texas driver's license, liability auto insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
