Description

StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full time Maintenance Specialist/Painter to join its outstanding Plant Operations team that supports StarCare's numerous facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely performs skills of the painting field including: methods, practices, materials, surface preparation, and proper mixing and matching of all types of paints, varnishes, shellacs, lacquers, wood stains and other finishes. 

Essential Duties:

  • Communicate information to supervisor and other employees;
  • complete all required documentation;
  • assist the supervisor or other Center Staff with special projects or assignments;
  • support building security and fill in providing support to the Plant Operations functions throughout StarCare Specialty Health System;
  • share on-call duties on rotating basis with other Maintenance employees;
  • Travel to all Center locations or other citywide sites, using a Center vehicle and/or personal vehicle, is required.

 

Schedule: This is a full-time/non-exempt position scheduled Monday – Friday, with an 8-hour shift of:  8am to 5pm, depending on the needs of the department.

Qualifications:

  • High School Education or equivalent,
  • plus three (3) years’ experience in designated trade (painting/ finishing) 

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of operation and safe use of all power and hand tools/equipment common to the painting field is necessary. 
  • Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, etc.) and personal computer with Microsoft Office products is required.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must have a Texas driver's license, liability auto insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
