StarCare is in search of a compassionate and dedicated full time Psychiatric Nursing Assistant to assist our providers in the Mental Health Outpatient Clinic.
Psychiatric Nursing Assistants (PNA) provide direct nursing assistance to persons receiving services from StarCare Specialty Health Systems Outpatient Clinic. PNAs work as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Outpatient Clinic Administrator and the Clinic Providers of outpatient care. Moderate latitude for the use of initiative is expected.
Responsibilities include providing nursing assistant services, such as:
- obtaining vitals,
- monitoring changing patient needs,
- communicating changes with team members,
- providing pre-crisis and crisis intervention and management, and
- documenting in the medical record according to Clinic Policies and Procedures.
- completing required documentation;
- verbally communicating pertinent information to other team members including, nurses, supervisor, etc.; and
- assisting supervisor and other staff with special assignments and/or projects as needed.

This position impacts outcomes for people by supporting direct service staff and the management of an accessible system of quality, effective, efficient services and resources that support individual choice and promote lives of dignity and self-determination.
Schedule: Full Time: Monday – Friday 7:30am-4:30pm plus rotating Saturdays from 8:00am – 12:00pm with flexibility to meet the needs of the clinic.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED) with one year of related experience, preferred.
- Certified Nurse’s Aide is preferred.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, be compassionate, and have a desire to help people who are struggling with mental illness.
- Must be able to attend required training and work assigned schedule.
- Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment (phone, copier, fax, etc.,) and personal computer with Microsoft Office products is required.

Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility is required to meet participant and program needs. Therefore, work will be performed in different environments and with different customers, and periodic changes in people served and/or work schedule may be necessary, with minimal notice.
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have a Texas driver's license, liability auto insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
