StarCare Specialty Health System seeks to hire a talented, mission driven, person-centered Hospital Administrator to join the Sunrise Canyon Hospital Team!
Hospital Administrator Responsibilities:

Provide executive leadership and operational management for Sunrise Canyon Hospital, a 30-bed acute inpatient psychiatric facility, with strategic oversight of an ongoing expansion to 60 beds.
- Lead a multi-talented team consisting of psychiatric providers, nurses, social workers, therapists, and rehabilitation professionals.
- Oversee the provision of cost-effective treatment with focus on high qualify treatment and care of patients.
- Ensure compliance with governing board policies and objectives.
This role requires the planning, organization, direction, control, and evaluation of all hospital resources, including human resources, facilities, equipment, and capital. This position will be responsible for the overall operation of the facility's programs according to approved policies, procedures, and Joint Commission Accreditation Standards.
Essential Duties:
- Develops and executes strategic and operational plans that align with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and governing body expectations for oversight, quality, and accountability.
- Prepares and implements the annual management plan to support operational effectiveness, financial stewardship, and compliance with CMS governance requirements.
- Serves as a primary liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and hospital departments to support effective communication, shared decision-making, and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Interprets and advises the Board of Directors on organizational policies, including analysis of operational, clinical, and regulatory impacts.
- Directs and supports Medical Executive Committee and Medical Staff leadership activities, ensuring compliance with bylaws, rules, regulations, credentialing, privileging, and peer review processes.
- Ensures adequate clinical and administrative services through effective resource planning, staffing, and operational oversight across all departments.
- Collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders to develop and implement policies that ensure safe, effective, patient-centered care.
- Oversees systems for accurate recordkeeping, data collection, and reporting to monitor service delivery, patient outcomes, and program effectiveness.
- Promotes a proactive approach to risk mitigation, crisis prevention, and problem resolution consistent with QAPI and patient safety expectations.
- Ensures leadership accountability for continuous quality improvement initiatives, including corrective action plans resulting from audits, surveys, or performance reviews.
- Provides oversight to ensure adherence to the organization’s Code of Conduct, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements at all levels of operation.
- Maintains knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and industry best practices through participation in professional organizations and healthcare associations.
- Oversees administrative staff recruitment, supervision, evaluation, and disciplinary actions in accordance with HR standards, employment laws, and organizational policy.
- Maintains own and ensures staff licensure, certifications, credentials, training, and competencies remain current and compliant with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
- Supports leadership accountability for employee orientation, ongoing education, and workforce competency.
- Completes special projects and additional duties requiring similar skill and responsibility, as assigned.
- Ensures all activities support Sunrise Canyon Hospital/StarCare’s mission, values, operational goals, program capacity, service continuity, and regulatory compliance.
Schedule: This is a full-time exempt position scheduled Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, with flexibility to meet the needs of the hospital. This position works on-site at Sunrise Canyon Hospital.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Nursing, Social Work, Mental Health, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related healthcare field.
- Master’s degree from an accredited university in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Leadership, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative or senior leadership experience within an inpatient psychiatric, behavioral health, or similarly regulated healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing clinical or programmatic services for individuals with psychiatric disabilities, including supervision of staff, operational management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership in regulated healthcare environments with direct involvement in accreditation and oversight activities with TJC, CMS, and/or CARF.
- Experience supporting or leading survey readiness, corrective action plans, policy and procedure development, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance activities aligned with accreditation and regulatory standards.
