StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full time Day Shift Personal Care Attendant to join its outstanding PACE/Silver Star team. PACE, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, is a program designed to help aging people meet their health needs in the community instead of going to a nursing facility or other care facility. Working at Silver Star, you will be part of the PACE team of health care professionals making sure PACE participants receive the coordinated care they need to be healthy and safe in the community.
Responsibilities:

We are looking for full-time professional, competent and compassionate caregivers/drivers to provide care to our Silver Star participants in their homes and/or in our licensed adult day center. This is an often demanding yet extremely rewarding job. Experience working or caring for elderly adults is required.

The ideal candidate will take pride in working with the aging population, be kind, honest, and friendly with excellent communication skills. Must be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks to assist Silver Star participants.
Essential Duties:
- assist individuals with ADL’s, which includes but is not limited to grooming, bathing, completing meals, and general housekeeping
Schedule: This is a full-time/non-exempt position. When scheduled to work on a weekday, hours will be from 8am – 5pm.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from High School or equivalent (GED) with one (1) year of full-time related experience providing personal care, home health services or nursing aide services to the frail or elderly population is required.
- Must meet the standardized set of competencies for the specific position description before working independently, and be up-to-date on all immunizations before engaging in direct participant contact.
- Must be able to travel within Lubbock County using StarCare vehicle and/or using personal vehicle with reimbursement according to Center guidelines with one year of driving experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment and personal computer with Microsoft Office products is required.
- Must be able to communicate verbally in English and be able to write legibly, professionally and accurately in English.
- Ability to speak Spanish is helpful, though not required.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have a Texas driver's license, an excellent driving record, personal auto liability insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
